Eagles Drop Second Game in JWU Classic

Denver, Colo.- After their first victory of the season earlier in the morning, The Eagles tallied their first defeat of the season later that day.

The Eagles put up a hard fought battle against the Bulldogs of Montana-Western but it was not enough for the win Friday afternoon. The Eagles lost 3 sets to 1 (21-25, 25-23, 27-29, 22-25) with the momentum changing constantly throughout the first three sets. It was the untimely unforced errors by The Eagles and the timely kills of Kylie McCree of the Bulldogs that were the deciding factors in the loss. The Eagles had more kills and assists than the Bulldogs, but Montana-Western was able to produce more blocks and aces.The Eagles leaders in kills were Jalin Yoder (24), Jordan Jones (18), and Lyndsey Weiler (11). Hannah Mercurio led in assists with (53) and Megan Riley had 25 digs.

The Eagles will hit the court again this afternoon against host Johnson & Wales University at 12:00 PM, then finish the tournament at 4:00 PM against John Brown University (Ark.).
