Prescott - The 16-3ERAU Women's Volleyball team faces a new slate of opponents for Octoberwest week. This Wednesday, at 6:00 p.m., the annual Cross-Town Battle Against Breast Cancer will take place at Yavapai College. This annual event pits the two college volleyball teams that call Prescott home against each other to raise money and awareness for the worthy cause of breast cancer research. The friendly match will not make a difference to ERAU's standing at the top of the CalPac Conference.
This Friday, at 6:00 pmin the Eagle Gym, your Eagles will play the Ottawa University Spirit. The OU Volleyball team has never played ERAU before, so look out for this game to set a precedent for the future. The Spirit is currently 5-8, having won their past two games against SAGU American Indian College.
On Saturday, after the air show at 3:00 pmERAU will return to conference play with a match against Benedictine University at Mesa. The Redhawks are currently 8-9, and have a 2-4 conference record. BenU-Mesa has not won against the Eagles since the 2015 season, and are coming off of losses to Providence Christian and La Sierra, both of which ERAU has recently bested.
Your Eagles are leading the Cal Pac conference with an outstanding 16-3 record, with a 6-0 record in conference play. Star players Lyndsey Weiler and Jalin Yoder have given the Eagles the offensive advantage they need in almost every match this season. Defensive Specialist Megan Riley has often kept the Eagles in the game in close matchups, and Middle Blockers Sharik Joseph and Katie Powell have provided a stellar presence at the net. Look forward to the Eagles extending their win streak this weekend!
