PRESCOTT, Ariz. – A dominating performance tonight by (19) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) Volleyball nets them their 12th straight California Pacific Conference victory in 2018 as they handled University of California – Merced (9-11, 7-4) in three sets, 25-12, 25-16, 25-15.
ERAU was lighting up the scoreboard from the jump as they came out and scored the first four points of the match. They were extremely efficient as they attacked at .322 as a team with 40 kills and only 11 errors. Riddle was led by Sharik Joseph (SO/San Diego, Calif.) as she led the team in points (15.5), kills (11), blocks (6) and hitting percentage (.563). Joseph was a force in the middle and forced UCM to alter their shots regularly.
It was all ERAU all night long as they only trailed twice which was at 1-0 and 2-1 in the last set. Audrey Baldwin (JR/Santa Barbara, Calif.) added another 30+ assist night for the 8th consecutive match and 13th out of 14 matches. Erin Clark (SO/Phoenix, Ariz.) was all over the court tonight as she led the team with 12 digs.
Tomorrow (10/19), the Eagles will be once again in Eagle Gym for poster day where they will take on Simpson University (3-17, 0-10) at 2:00 p.m.
