PRESCOTT, Ariz. – After yet another extremely successful 20+ win season (19) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) volleyball (26-6, 16-0 Cal Pac) has dominated the regular season awards including the 2018 Cal Pac Player of the Year; Caylee Robalin (SO/El Paso, Texas).
Cal Pac coaches named Robalin of Embry-Riddle as the Player of the Year. A sophomore opposite hitter, was not only steady with her performance this season, but she was everywhere on the court. She was second in the Cal Pac in Kills (371), knocking them down at a .230 clip, the 5th best in the conference. Robalin, a Second Team pick last year, also led the Cal Pac in Service Aces (52) and ranked among the leaders in Digs (9th with 318).
Head Coach Jill Blasczyk won her fourth consecutive Coach of the Year award as well. After sweeping nearly every team in the conference, the Eagles are gearing up for post season action this week.
Audrey Baldwin (JR/Santa Barbara, Calif.) was named to her second consecutive 1st team All-Conference team this season. As the main playmaker in the Eagles' offense, the junior set a new record for assists per game at 10.7 in the Cal Pac.
Last of the three named to the first team is Erin Clark (SO/Phoenix, Ariz.). As a sophomore, Clark was like Robalin in the fact that she was all over the court. Not only did she hit at .250 (2nd) but she also had 363 digs (7th) and 340 kills (5th).
Another sophomore Eagle was named to the second team in Sharik Joseph (SO/San Diego, Calif.). As the middle blocker Joseph led the conference in blocks (109) and blocks/set (1.0)
In her last year Jalin Yoder (SR/Fountain Hills, Ariz.) proved that she could accept and thrive in a new role on the team. No longer was she the main target on offense but she found a way to keep plays alive and excel with her serve grabbing an honorable mention and was one of the conference's Champions of Character.
