Eagles Attack Keeps Red Hawks Grounded

REDDING, Calif. -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's volleyball hit nearly .500 on Thursday night, wehn they beat the Red Hawks of Simpson University in three sets; 25-9, 25-10, 25-16. This was the Eagles (20-5, 11-0 Cal Pac) 46th consecutive win in California Pacific Conference play.

The Red Hawks (5-18, 2-8 Cal Pac) could not control the Eagles offense as they dominated the first set. ERAU hit at a .522 clip with 14 kills and only two attack errors. This set was decided in the first 11 points as ERAU scored ten straight after the Red Hawks started the match with a point. Erin Clark (JR/Phoenix, Ariz.) delivered six of her 14 kills in the set.

Set two was similar to the first as the Eagles ran away with it. Elisa Pauzer (JR/Campinas, Brazil) delivered the goods killing five of her 11 in the set. Once again the Eagles efficiency was the reason for the big margin of victory, it was their "worst" of the match at .458.

The final set was the closest of the match but ERAU still won the set by nine. The Eagles doubled the Red Hawks kill total in the set and was twice as efficient. Kat Yung (SO/Phoenix, Ariz.) was able to serve up three aces in the set before they won they match.

ERAU will play Pacific Union College on Friday at 2:00 pm MST in Angwin, California.
