(24)ERAU Claims Arizona Division Championship

Box Score

PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – Through all the adversity and hard work the Embry-Riddle volleyball has faced the last month, the Eagles clinched one goal on Friday night. A straight-sets sweep of Marymount California at Eagle Gym cliched the Arizona Division and an automatic berth into the Cal Pac tournament for ERAU.

Terra Gordon was dishing the ball all over the court, finishing the night with 26 assists. The Eagles finished with 48 kills on the night, and with Katie Rolle's 13 helpers, 39 of the team's 48 successful attacks came off assists.

"I think we all came out ready to play," Gordon said. "Sometimes we have to be the ones that bring each other up. The momentum can't always come from the other side of the court, we have to bring it ourselves."

Kaylee Robalin finished with 16 kills on the night, and had a pair of assists as well. Erin Clark also finished with 11 kills, and played well defensively with nine digs.

Sharik Joseph put together an efficient hitting night, finishing with six kills on 11 attacks (.545 hit percentage). Joseph also contributed big on the defensive side, finishing with a solo block and two block assists.

While clinching the Arizona division is not the ultimate goal of the season, it brings the Eagles one step closer. ERAU will host the Cal Pac tournament on its home floor, and put themselves in a good spot to grab the number one overall seed.

"It definitely means a lot to us, especially coming off of two losses, and having to really fight for our spot," Gordon said of the division championship. "We're really excited to be hosting the tournament."

One final game is ahead for ERAU, a Senior Day matchup with Westcliff. First serve from Eagle Gym is set for 1 p.m.
