Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – An important five-game homestand for the Embry-Riddle volleyball team started off with a dominating win on Thursday night, as the Eagles beat Antelope Valley in straight sets. The first set was competitive until the end, but ERAU pulled away in the final two sets for the match victory.
Embry-Riddle's best performance was in the second set, where they won 25-10 to push the Pioneers to the brink. The Eagles hit .360 as a team, and at one point led 17-3.
Kelly Hansen had an excellent night, finishing with a game-high 13 kills on a .440 attack percentage. Hansen had just two attack errors, and also helped on defense with three block assists.
Emma Barber had an efficient night, as she had seven kills to go along with a .312 hitting percentage. Adiva Joseph also had eight kills, and five different players had at least four kills.
Katie Rolle finished with 23 assists, and had an excellent game defensively. Rolle finished with a career-high 18 digs, the second-most in the match on Thursday.
Lily Figgins had the most digs in the match, as she finished with 18 to go along with nine assists. Figgins and Rolle combined for 37 of the Eagles' 59 digs in the match victory.
The Eagles will return to action looking for its third straight win Friday, as they host La Sierra in a pivotal matchup in the Cal Pac Tournament chase. First serve from Eagle Gym is scheduled for 2 p.m.
