Eagles Win Fourth Straight to Close in on Cal Pac Tournament Bid

Box Score

PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle volleyball team started the week with an opportunity to clinch its spot in the Cal Pac Tournament, and started off on the right foot on Thursday night. The Eagles earned a dominant straight-sets victory over Simpson, winning each set 25-16 on its way to the team's fourth consecutive match victory.

The first set was in peril for the Eagles through the midway point, as they trailed 15-11 and Simpson pulling the momentum. From that point on, ERAU outscored the Red Hawks 14-1 to take the set, and turned into a 19-2 stretch that bled into the second set.

The Eagles took over each of the final two sets quickly, and were able to pick up its tenth Cal Pac victory. With the UC Merced loss to Park-Gilbert on Thursday, an ERAU win and a UC Merced loss on Friday would secure the Eagles' spot in the Cal Pac Tournament.

Adiva Joseph led all attackers with 12 kills, and had just one attack error for a .524 hit percentage. Joseph was very efficient with her chances as well, needing just 21 attacks to reach the game-high in kills on Thursday.

Katie Rolle, fresh off yet another Cal Pac Setter of the Week honor, finished with 34 assists to go along with five kills. Rolle was also a key defensively as well, as she had 11 digs, one of only two players to record 10 or more digs inside of Eagles Gym on the night.

Lily Figgins was all over the court again, as she finished with 22 digs, plus also pitched in three assists and three service aces. Figgins has now recorded four consecutive matches of 19+ digs.

The Eagles finished with 10 block assists and a pair of block solos as they were excellent at the net defensively. Juliette van den Herik had four block assists and a solo block to go along with her eight kills.

The Eagles will get back on the court Friday afternoon with an important clash with Pacific Union. First serve from inside of Eagle Gym is scheduled for 2 p.m.
