Eagles Win Fifth Straight, Clinch Cal Pac Tournament Bid

Box Score

PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle volleyball team continued its momentum on Friday, earning its fifth straight victory over Pacific Union inside of Eagle Gym. The Eagles have won six of its last seven matches, and have lost just one set in its last four contests.

With the UC Merced loss on Friday night in Mesa, the Eagles have now clinched its spot in the Cal Pac Tournament. ERAU, who won the tournament last season, has an outside chance of winning the regular season, and will continue to fight for a high seed in the postseason competition.

Embry-Riddle had yet another excellent offensive day, as the team posted a .330 attack percentage. The Eagles also had five different players to finish with .400 hitting percentages or better, and had 44 kills to Pacific Union's 20.

Kelly Hansen was efficient for a second straight night, finishing with nine kills and just one error on 19 attacks. That effort was good for a .421 attack percentage, the highest mark in the match from anyone with at least 15 attacks.

Dalia Haase put home nearly every chance she had on Friday, killing nine of the 12 attempts she was given. Haase also did not commit an error, putting up a .750 hitting percentage, her career high in a match.

Adiva Joseph led all attackers with 11 kills, her third consecutive match with at least 10 kills. Joseph was also able to contribute defensively up front, picking up a pair of block assists.

Katie Rolle had 34 assists on Friday, running the efficient offense to help the Eagles into the postseason. Rolle has averaged over 10 assists per set in her last pair of contests, and has 35+ assists in four of the last five matches.

Lily Figgins was great defensively, posting 23 digs to lead the match. Since October 15 (five matches), Figgins has at least 19 digs in each of those contests to help the Eagles with each contest in that stretch.

Embry-Riddle will wrap up its five-game homestand on Saturday afternoon against UC Merced. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m., and the team will be signing posters for fans in attendance after the match.
