LANCASTER, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle volleyball team started its conference schedule of with a statement, defeating Antelope Valley in straight sets on Friday night. The Eagles won those sets convincingly as well, not allowing the Pioneers to score more than 15 points in any game played.

Embry-Riddle held the Pioneers to a .000 kill percentage, as UAV had 21 kills and 21 errors. The Eagles, on the other hand, had 40 kills and just seven errors for a .340 kill percentage.

Following a first set that saw the Eagles post a kill percentage of .182 and have five errors, the team made just two attack errors the rest of the way. Adiva Joseph led the way with 15 kills, and posted a .375 kill percentage. Emma Barber had ten kills for the Eagles, and just one error on 20 attacks.

The reigning Cal Pac Setter of the Week had another outstanding performance, as Katie Rolle recorded 32 assists on Friday. Rolle also had five kills on 11 attacks and recorded ten digs.

The defensive effort was spectacular for the Eagles as well, with three different players having 10+ digs. Barber led the match with 16, while Erika Herr had 11 and Rolle had the ten.

The Eagles recorded 10 block assists and three solo blocks on Friday. In her first collegiate match, Maliah Juker had three block assists to go along with a solo block, plus Kelly Hansen and Dalia Haase each had a solo block.

Embry-Riddle will finish its Cal Pac-opening road trip on Saturday when they match up with La Sierra. First serve from Riverside, Calif. is scheduled for 8 p.m. AZ Time.
