Box Score 1 PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – Despite an excellent two sets, the Embry-Riddle volleyball team dropped its home opener to Saint Katherine on Thursday night. The Eagles had a kill percentage of .333 through the first two sets, but finished the evening attacking at a .136 clip and were unable to stop the momentum of the Firebirds.
The first set was especially brilliant for Embry-Riddle from an offensive standpoint, as the team had a kill percentage of .457 and had 18 kills with just two errors. The Eagles had an efficient offensive second set as well, finishing with 14 kills and a .225 percentage.
In the final three sets, ERAU had just 23 kills and saw its kill percentage decrease as the match went on. The third set was especially difficult, as the team had 14 errors alone after having just seven in the first two sets.
The Eagles did have three players finish with double-digit kills, led by Emma Barber's 14. Dalia Haase had 13 kills, and finished with a .219 kill percentage. Adiva Joseph finished with 11 kills.
Katie Rolle had 46 assists, and was able to manage four kills as well. Rolle also had 12 digs, one of three ERAU players with 10+ digs.
Lily Figgins led the way defensively for the Eagles, finishing with a game-high 19 digs. The Eagles also had 10 block assists, with Haase and Rolle finishing with three each.
Embry-Riddle will get back on the court on Friday, as they host Providence Christian. First serve from Eagle Gym is scheduled for 6 p.m.
