Box Score MERCED, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle volleyball team fought hard on Saturday night, but eventually fell in a five-set match to UC Merced on Saturday. The Eagles had an opportunity to close it out on the road but are coming back to Prescott with a 2-1 road trip record.
Adiva Joseph had another big night, getting 13 kills and posting a .212 hitting percentage. Six different people had six or more kills for the Eagles, and Joseph was the leader for the Eagles in kills.
Four different players for ERAU had seven kills, as Dalia Haase, Emma Barber, Kelly Hansen and Emma Barber were consistent offensively. Katie Rolle and Haase had matching .286 hitting percentage on the evening, and Rolle had six kills.
Rolle also had an excellent night passing the ball, finishing with a game-high 37 assists. Rolle also had a team-high 18 digs, and also had five block assists.
Haase and Juilette van den Herik each had a solo block on the Saturday, helping the Eagles with a solid defensive effort. The Eagles finished with 68 digs, two solo blocks and 20 block assists.
Embry-Riddle will return to the state of Arizona for a pair of matches next week. The Eagles will travel to Benedictine-Mesa on Thursday, then host Park-Gilbert on Friday night.
