Box Score Prescott, Ariz. - Embry-Riddle Volleyball fell to the University of Saint Katherine as they began Cal Pac play tonight. The final scores of the sets were 27-25, 27-25, 15-25, 23-25, and 5-15.
The first set of the night was very back and forth, with USK having the largest lead of five points. ERAU was down late in the set, but used a kill by Katie Rolle (Missoula, Mont.) and a service ace from Emma Barber (Goodyear, Ariz.) to pull within two points. Barber had a kill at the end of the set along with an error by the Firebirds as ERAU went up 1-0 in the match.
Much like the first set, neither team could pull too far away in the second set. Barber had two more aces in the set along with Embry-Riddle getting two kills from Dalia Haase (Tucson, Ariz.) to give the Eagles a late lead as they went on to win 27-25 in the set.
USK got off to a large lead in the third set and ERAU could not catch up. The fourth set was much closer as the Eagles moved the ball around. During the set, six different Eagles had at least one kill asKelly Hansen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) had two. The final score of the 4th set was Firebirds 25 and ERAU 23.
Much like the third set, the final set of the night was all Saint Katherine as they won the set 15-5 and therefore the match 3-2.
Barber finished the match with 11 kills and she also added five service aces for the Eagles. Rolle had 29 assists tonight for ERAU.
Embry-Riddle is back in action tomorrow night as they play Providence Christian in the Eagle Gym with the match beginning at 6pm.
