Embry-Riddle's
Demetris Love, Jr. (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished 1st at The Master's Cross Country Invitational as the Eagles finished 3rd as a team held at Central Park in Santa Clarita, California.
Love, Jr. finished with a time of 24:11.7, nine second faster than the second place finisher.
The next ERAU finisher was
Ben Smith (Spokane, Wash.). The sophomore ran the course in 24:44.3 which was good enough for 10th place overall.
Dillon Eisner (Paulden, Ariz.) and
Jacob Ortiz (Gilbert, Ariz.) were next to cross the finish line. Eisner came in 19th with a time of 24:56.9 and Ortiz in 23rd with a finishing time of 25:04.4.
Nick Logan (Phoenix, Ariz.) was just behind them finishing his race in 25:09 and in 26th place.
Nathan Kutscher (Huntington Beach, Calif.) finished in 25:51.3. He was followed by
Ben Kovach (Chandler, Ariz.) who had a time of 26:29.4.
Cam Shepherd (Buckeye, Ariz.),
Tyler Rafferty (Surprise, Ariz.),
Nicolas Urquidez (Austin, Texas), and
Carlos Soto (San Salvador, El Salvador) also raced for ERAU. Shepherd ran the course in 26:55.9 followed closely by Rafferty who finished in 26:58.4. Urquidez was not far behind them finishing in 27:08.5. Soto ran the 8K course in 28:56.2 for the Eagles.
Embry-Riddle will race again at the Highlander Invitational hosted by UC Riverside on Saturday, October 19th.
