Demetris Love, Jr. (Phoenix, Ariz.) placed second and Embry-Riddle finished second as a team at the Great Southwest Athletic Conference Championships held in Santa Clarita, California on Friday morning.
Earning GSAC All-Conference awards were Love, Jr.
Ben Smith (Spokane, Wash.),
Dillon Eisner (Paulden, Ariz.),
Nathan Kutscher (Huntington Beach, Calif.), and
Nick Logan (Phoenix, Ariz.).
Love, Jr. ran the 8K course in 24:17.0. Finishing in 6th overall was Smith in 24:48.2. Eisner finished just him with a time of 24:54.9 and in 7th place. Kutscher finished his race in 25:31.8 which put him in 12th. Coming in 14th place was Logan with a time of 25:36.8.
Jacob Ortiz (Chandler, Ariz.) finished with a time of 25:48.9 as he came in 17th. Rounding out the top seven finishers for ERAU was
Benjamin Kovach (Chandler, Ariz.). Kovach ran his race in 26:34.9.
Austin Lemus (Chino, Calif.) came in 27th with a time of 26:51.4.
Cam Shepard (Buckeye, Ariz.) ran the 8K course in 27:25.4 followed by
Max Kilstrom (Webster Groves, Mo.) and
Tyler Rafferty (Surprise, Ariz.).
Nicolas Urquidez (Austin, Texas) and
Carlos Soto (San Salvador, El Salvador) rounded out the ERAU runners.
Embry-Riddle will now wait to see if the Eagles get an at-large bid to compete at the NAIA National Championships which will take place on Friday, November 22nd in Columbia, Mo.
