Boise, Idaho - The Eagles men's soccer team came away with a 2-0 win today against the College of Idaho.
This is the first victory for The Eagles in 2017 and the first for Head Coach Dan Balaguero at Embry-Riddle.

The Coyotes had an early chance to score when a shot by Carter Perry struck the crossbar at 3:54. The Eaglesstruggled to generate scoring chances early in the first half, as midfielderDavid Batesrecorded the ERAU'sonly two shotsin the first 22minutes. The Eagles began to put the offensive pressure on COI, with four more shots attacking the goal in the half.
Bates begin The Eagles offensive and it was fitting that he was the first to score on the day. Grant Rowe led the junior midfielder into the box, where he slotted a ball past the goalkeeper to take a 1-0 lead.
Rowe's five assists last season were the most on the team, with Bates tied with Nick Goldstein with four goals in 2016. It was Goldstein who connected for the next Eagles goal in the 77th minute on the assist by Devin Ries. It was the third goal for Goldstein on the road trip.
Jake Hutto manned the goal again for ERAU and had four saves in the shutout, helping The Eagles improve to 1-1.
The men will again hit the road next weekend when they travel to Southern California to face The Master's on Saturday September 4th and Hope International on the 6th.
