PRESCOTT, Ariz. – In what was one of the most successful seasons of all time for the (8) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's soccer team (15-2, 10-0 Cal Pac) more honors were found as eight Eagles were named to the All California Pacific Conference teams this evening.
Riley Martinson (SO/Deer Park, Wash.) had an extremely successful sophomore campaign that resulted in this year's Player of the Year honors. The sophomore forward led the Cal Pac in Points (37) and Assists (11) and was among the league leaders in Points per Game (2.18), Goals per Game (0.76), Goals (13), and Shots per Game (3.47).
Conference coaches voted Adri Jackson (SR/Port Orchard, Wash.) as the Cal Pac's top defender for the second year in a row. Jackson, a Second Team choice her first two two seasons in Prescott, Ariz., earned her second consecutive First Team recognition. Jackson was the key to a defense that registered eight shutouts and limited opponents to just four goals in conference matches, and nine overall.
ERAU head coach Todd Poitras was voted by his peers as the Coach of the Year in the Cal Pac for the second year in a row. After leading the Eagles to their highest ranking ever and producing another undefeated Cal Pac team.
Breanna Larkin (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.) was named to the First Team, as she was in 2017. The Eagles' senior was Honorable Mention in 2016 and a Second Team member in 2015. As the main cog in the Eagle's offense Larkin was instrumental in setting things up from her central midfield position.
Caitlyn Aaron (JR/Flower Mound, Texas), ERAU's stellar keeper, was voted to the First Team for the second year in a row after leading the conference in Goals Against Average (0.45) and Shutouts (8).
One of Aaron and Jackson's back line mates Maddy Mak (JR/Renton, Wash.), joined them on the first team as well. Mak scored two goals and was the Defensive Player of the Week once in 2018.
ERAU's Krista Lee (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.), a First Team pick when she was the Player of the Year in 2017 and the Freshman of the Year in 2015, earned Second Team honors this season, as she did in 2016--making her a four-time All-Cal Pac team member.
Joining her on the second team is Parker Lee (JR/Kennewick, Wash.) who had a tremendous year coming off of the bench a majority of the time. As a center midfielder, Lee would go on to score 7 goals which is the second most by an Eagle this season behind Martinson.
Last but not least is the connecting piece to it all, the holding mid Andie Dean (JR/Flagstaff, Ariz.) who was also voted to the second team. Dean allows players like P. Lee and Larkin to go forward knowing she will cover and when they vacate their positions.
