Box Score Mesa, Ariz. – A goal with less than two minutes remaining enabled Park-Gilbert to score a 2-1 voctory over the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) men's soccer team in a California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac) contest. Djougher Oliveira (SR/Belo Horizonte, Brazil) scored the goal for the Eagles.
It did not take long for Embry-Riddle to strike in this one, as Oliveira finished off an assist from Chiedu Ikeme (SR/Inverness, Scotland) just 20 seconds in. The lead proved to be short lived, as less than nine minutes later Park-Gilbert picked up the equalizer on its first shot of the game. The Buccaneers had a chance to take the lead on a penalty kick in the 38th minute, but the attempt was wide and it went into the second half tied at 1-1.
In the first 20 minutes of the second half Embry-Riddle got off three shots on goal against the Buccaneers, but all three were saved. After that the two defenses did not allow a shot for over 20 minutes until Park was able to get a corner kick with 3:26 left. Just 33 seconds after that the Buccaneers scored what proved to be the game-winner and then held the Eagles without a shot for the remainder of the game as they picked up the win.
