Prescott, Ariz. – A pair of goals less than a minute apart in the first half proved to be all the scoring as the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 decision against Benedictine-Mesa. Alex Reinert (SR/Frisco, Texas) scored the game winner, while Elias Ammon (FR/Bremen, Germany) picked up the shutout in goal for the Eagles.

Benedictine had a quality opportunity just two minutes in, but a shot was knocked down by Ammon and a second attempt off the rebound was blocked by the ERAU defense. Embry-Riddle came back and picked up four shots on goal over a 13-minute span, but none found the mark. At 24:53, however, the Eagles broke on top when Lucas Garcia (JR/Barcelona, Spain) slipped one to Alex Reinert who finished and gave ERAU the lead. Just 57 seconds later Chiedu Ikeme (SR/Inverness, Scotland) continued his hot streak of late, taking a pass from Jacob Baker (SR/Graham, Wash.) and scoring his third goal in as many games to give the Eagles a two-goal cushion.

That is where the score would stay the rest of the way. Both teams had penalty kicks in the second half, but both were missed, and Ammon made four saves in the second half as Embry-Riddle went on to record its eight win of the season.
