Box Score MESA, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team took the field for its third game of the Coach Calderone Invitational on Friday morning, and another slow start doomed the Eagles against Eastern Oregon. The Mountaineers scored all its runs in the first four innings as ERAU fell 8-1 at Gene Autry Park.
The Eagles racked up five hits and drew three walks, but could not get much going when on base. Bryson Ho picked up an RBI when he brought home Kevin Fedourk following a double.
Parker Simpson had a good two inning on the mound for ERAU, allowing a walk and a hit. He was able to get out of a first-and-third jam in the seventh, then was able to produce a double play after hitting the leadoff batter of the eighth.
Embry-Riddle gets a great test on Saturday morning when they face GSAC member The Master's. First pitch from Canyon View High School in Waddell, Ariz. is scheduled for 10 a.m.
