Box Score VALLEJO, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle men's soccer team went on the road yet again, and started off this trip to Northern California with a dominant 12-0 victory over Cal Maritime. The Eagles scored seven first half goals, then added five more as they team captured its tenth consecutive victory and a spot in the Cal Pac Tournament.
The first trio of goals scored by ERAU came in just under a 10-minute stretch as the Eagles did not waste any time building a lead. Lucas Garcia was involved in all three tallies, as he assisted on the first and third goals while scoring the second.
The opening goal of the game was scored by Alex Frances in the seventh minute, his first of four on the evening. Later in the first half, Frances would score two goals in 1:56, and then would post the final marker of the opening 45 minutes.
The reigning Cal Pac Offensive Player of the Week Paul Fulop had another big night as well, scoring a goal and adding two assists. Fulop was involved in three consecutive ERAU tallies, assisting on Frances's final two goals and then scoring one of his own in the 48'.
Kristian Bielicki had the same stat line, as he scored a goal to go along with two assists. All of his damage came in the second half, being involved in three of the final four strikes for ERAU.
The Eagles fired away 28 total shots, and got 19 of them on target. Elias Ammon did work a lot as well on Thursday to preserve the shutout, making seven saves for the team's third consecutive shutout.
Embry-Riddle will play its biggest match of the regular season on Saturday, as the face off with UC Merced with a chance to secure a first-round bye in the Cal Pac Tournament. Kickoff from Bobcat Field on Saturday is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
