Box Score LIMA, OHIO – The 25th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team had a few opportunities to knock off the NAIA's number five team, and eventually finished with a scoreless draw against Spring Arbor on Monday. It was an evenly-matched contest from the first whistle, and both teams had opportunities to pull in front.
The Eagles registered more shots on target, getting five to the Cougars' three. Rae Yoshioka led the match with two shots on goal and four shots total.
Embry-Riddle nearly scored a goal 20 minutes into the game, firing three shots on target in a 53 second stretch. Yoshioka, Kylee Bennett and Katelyn Kelch all had an opportunity, but were stopped by the Cougars keeper Blair Currie.
Reigning Cal Pac Defender of the Week Annabelle Ruckle was just as excellent as well, making three important saves. The biggest stop came with eight second left in the contest, where Ruckle denied Spring Arbor's last gasp effort to steal a victory.
Embry-Riddle will get six days to prepare for its next match, a home tilt against College of Idaho. The Eagles will host the Yotes on Sunday, September 11, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
