Box Score SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team had a chance to get back in the win column on Tuesday night, heading down to the Valley to take on OUAZ in a midweek contest. The Eagles led 2-1 through the fifth inning, but gave up the last three runs of the night to fall 4-2.
Embry-Riddle was trailing 1-0, but got singular runs in the fourth and fifth to take the lead. Jacob Aguirre had an RBI single in the fourth, and Gavin Botts brought home Javier Izaguirre with an RBI groundout in the fifth.
The Eagles had three pitchers throw scoreless appearances, as Parker Cadacio, Jesse Kaphing and Parker Simpson had solid outings on Tuesday. Cadacio turned in two innings of scoreless, no-hit work and Simpson also did not allow a hit and recorded a strikeout in the eighth inning.
ERAU will get back on the road this weekend, playing another important series against a ranked team. The Eagles will visit Hope International for the second straight season, with the first doubleheader scheduled for Friday in Fullerton, Calif.
