Box Score PRESOTT, Ariz. – Ottawa (Ariz.) scored eight runs over the first two innings and went on to take a 17-5 victory over the Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) baseball team in a non-conference game this afternoon. Junior Blake Moore (San Ramon, Calif.) had a pair of doubles and drove in two runs to lead ERAU.
Ottawa got off to a strong start over the first two innings, collecting six hits, including a pair of home runs, to power the Spirit to an 8-2 lead after two. Senior Travis Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.) got Embry-Riddle on the board in the bottom of the first and the Eagles went on to score in each of the first three innings, but it was just one run in each. ERAU went on to score in five of eight innings, all single runs as the Eagles could not come up with the big inning to get back in it.
Ottawa, which totaled 17 hits in the contest, struck for three runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to put the game away. In addition to Moore, juniors Gavin Botts (Lake Forest, Calif.) and Jacob Aguirre (La Verne, Calif.) had a pair of hits for the Eagles, with Botts driving in one and Aguirre scoring twice.
