Box Score ANTHEM, Ariz. – Antelope Valley scored four times in the first inning and never looked back as the Pioneers took the deciding game in the three-game California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac) baseball series, 11-3. Senior Travis Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.) and junior Kevin Fedoruk (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) each had a pair of hits for the Eagles.
Antelope Valley (7-5, 2-1 Cal Pac) wasted little time in the first inning, starting the contest with a walk and a double to put the first run on the board. The Pioneers went on to score four runs on three hits and were aided by a wild pitch to take the early lead.
Embry-Riddle (5-12, 1-2 Cal Pac) got one of the runs back in the bottom of the second when an error and a pair of walks put loaded the bases for Fedoruk, who singled to left center to make it 4-1. It proved to be as close as the Eagles would get, however, as UAV added two in the third and one in the fourth to make it 7-1.
Fedoruk homered in the bottom of the fourth, but the Pioneers offense added runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to put it away. ERAU plated its final run in the seventh on an RBI single by Strickler. Sophomore Jonah Montes (Upland, Calif.) and junior Tanner Moran (Mililani, Hawai'i) each threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Eagles.
