PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Arizona Christian scored 10 runs in the eighth inning, breaking open a tie game that carried the Firestorm to a 17-10 victory over Embry-Riddle in non-conference baseball action. Senior Travis Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.) had three hits and drove in three runs for the Eagles.

After three scoreless innings both sides broke through for runs in the fourth. ACU took advantage of a pair of ERAU errors, scoring four times on just one hit. Embry-Riddle responded in its half of the inning with a pair of runs. The Eagles picked up one run on a Firestorm error before junior Owen Cain (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) singled home another.

ACU built a 7-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh when Embry-Riddle rallied to tie things up. Three walks loaded the bases with one down for Strickler, who laced a two-run single to right. The Eagles again loaded the bases before juniors Jacob Aguirre (La Verne, Calif.) and Sean Boskovich (Chino Hills, Calif.) drew walks to tie the game at 7-all.

Arizona Christian then came up with its big inning that put the game out of reach. The Firestorm did it on just two hits, taking advantage of eight walks and a couple of passed balls to account for the damage. The Eagles did get one back in the bottom half of the inning on a Strickler double, and two more in the bottom of the ninth, but it was too little too late for EARU.
