Game 1
After neither team scored in the first two innings, ERAU took the lead in the third with two runs. Miles Murphy (Goodyear, Ariz.) led off the inning with a walk which was followed by a single from Travis Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.). Both runners moved up a base on a sacrifice by Jacob Aguirre (La Verne, Calif.). A double by Drew Barragan brought home both Murphy and Strickler to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead.
Embry-Riddle scored another run in the top of the 5th inning on a solo homerun by Murphy to make the score 3-0.
Simpson scored five runs in the bottom half of the 5th as they took the 5-3 lead.
ERAU got another run in the 6th inning, this time it was Kevin Fedoruk (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) who hit a homerun and after 6th innings the Eagles trailed by one, 5-4.
The RedHawks added three more runs in the bottom of the 6th and extended their lead to 8-4.
Embry-Riddle kept battling as they scored another run in the 7th inning. Calvin Solie (Buckeye, Ariz.) reached on an error, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and third on a balk. Solie scored on a groundout by Strickler to make the score 8-5.
After Simpson took a 10-5 lead into the 9th, the Eagles tried to make it interesting as they scored three more runs in the top of the inning. Solie reached first as he was hit by a pitch and then Murphy hit his second homerun of the game, this time a two run shot. Strickler then hit a double and moved to third on a wild pitch. He scored on a sac fly by Aguirre but unfortunately that was it for ERAU as they fell 10-8 in the first game of the double header.

Embry-Riddle answered in the top of the 5th with three runs of their own however as the Eagles took a 3-1 lead. Fedoruk led off the inning with a single and scored on a triple by Owen Cain (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.). Cain came into score on Murphy's third homerun of the day and after 5 and one half innings the Eagles were up 3-1.
The pitchers were able to take control of the games as neither team had much going on offense for the rest of the game and Embry-Riddle moved to 8-1 in the Cal Pac with the game two win.
Jesse Kaphing (Phoenix, Ariz.) earned the win for ERAU striking out five in his seven innings on the mound. Noah Tschopp (Las Vegas, Nev.) picked up the save getting a ground ball double play to end the game.
