Box Score After going down 6-0, Embry-Riddle rallied for 10 runs to take a 10-7 win over Park Gilbert in Mesa on Saturday and take the series from the Buccaneers 2-1.
Park scored six runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, but the Eagles answered in the top of the second as ERAU scored four runs. Luke Jepsen (Temecula, Calif.) was walked to begin the inning following by a single from Kevin Fedoruk (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.). Jacob Aguirre (La Verne, Calif.) was then walked to load the bases. Embry-Riddle's big hit of the inning came off the bat of Blake Moore (San Ramon, Calif.) who hit a grand slam to bring the Eagles within two runs with the score 6-4.
ERAU took their first lead of the day in the top of the 5th inning. Javier Izaguirre Jr. (Riverside, Calif.) and Drew Barragan (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) both singled to start the inning. Roberto Garza-Nunez (Salinas, Calif.) then hit a three run homerun as Embry-Riddle took a 7-6 lead.
Park tied the game in the bottom half of the 7th inning as the Buccaneers scored one run.
With the teams still tied, the game went into extra innings. In the top of the 10th inning, Barragan led off with a single followed by a single from Garza-Nunez. Jepsen was able to reach on a fielder's choice and both runners were able to score on the play. Fedoruk and Aguirre each had a single to follow and Fedoruk came around to score on a groundout by Moore.
Embry-Riddle played a clean bottom half of the 10th as the Eagles won the game 10-7.
Noah Tschopp (Las Vegas, Nev.) picked up with win for ERAU. Travis Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.) finished the game with three hits and Moore with 5 RBIs.
ERAU will play again on Tuesday, April 2nd as the Eagles will travel back to Phoenix to play the Firestorm of Arizona Christian.
