Box Score Embry-Riddle lost their midweek game to the Spirit of OUAZ on Tuesday at Eagle Baseball Field 12-4.
After both teams went down one, two, three in the first inning, ERAU scored in the bottom of the 2nd. Roberto Garza-Nunez (Salinas, Calif.) led off with a triple to right field. The next batter Luke Jepsen (Temecula, Calif.) brought home Garza-Nunez with a double to center field.
OUAZ took a 2-1 lead in the 3rd inning and added another run in the top of the 4th inning. Down 3-1, Jepsen hit another double to left field followed by a double from Kevin Fedoruk (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.). A single by Jacob Aguirre (La Verne, Calif.) brought in Fedoruk's pinch runner Kaden Menard (Meridian, Idaho). The last Eagle run came in on a double by Blake Moore (San Ramon, Calif.). ERAU held a 4-3 lead after four innings.
The Spirit tied the game up in the 5th inning at 4-4 and then added five runs in the 6th inning. OUAZ scored their last two runs in the top of the 8th as they went on to win the game 12-4.
Embry-Riddle will play again at home this weekend as the Eagles host Providence Christian for a three game series. A doubleheader is scheduled for Friday with game one beginning at 11am.
