Embry-Riddle dropped their first game in the NAIA Baseball Opening Round presented by Avista 5-2 to the Thunderbirds of British Columbia 5-2 in Lewiston, Idaho on Monday.

UBC scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, one in the bottom of the second, one in the bottom of the 5^th and another in the bottom of the 6^th as they held a 5-0 lead.

ERAU scored two runs in the top of the 9^th, but the Eagles were unable to complete the comeback falling 5-2. 

Luke Jepsen (Temecula, Calif.) was 3-3 for Embry-Riddle with a RBI.  Gavin Botts (Lake Forest, Calif.) knocked in the other Eagle run.  Cole Altherr (Tucson, Ariz.) was the starting pitcher, throwing eight innings and striking out three. 

Embry-Riddle will play again on Tuesday at 11am at Harris Field in Lewiston.
