Eagles Win Four at Dodgertown

Vero Beach, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women's softball team has won four straight games at the Dodgertown Invitational.

The Eagles have outscored their opponents 36 to 4 in the first two days of the Dodgertown Invitational. Behind the pitching of Kayla Avram and Olivia Ramos who have allowed only two earned runs during the tournament The Eagles have racked up 33 hits against the competition. Led by Hannah De Luna who was 7 for 12 at the plate with 11 RBI's, The Eagles had multiple players have success at the plate.

Game One
Kayla Avram stepped in the circle during game one allowing only three hits and no earned runs. The Eagles struck first in the bottom of the first inning when lead-off batter Erica Jex reached first on walk and was moved by a single to right from Katey Moore. Jex scored on Willow Seward's sacrafice fly to center and Moore advanced to third. Moore was then brought in on a sacrafic fly by Hannah De Luna to left.
The Eagles were did not score again until the fourth inning when Kayla Provost hit an inside the park homerun to score Rylee Payton and LiAnn Ruth. Sinclair's only run came in the top of the sixth. The Eagles win game one 5-1.

Game Two
The Eagles kept the hitting alive during game two when they started off the game with three runs in the bottom of the third. Erica Jex once again led off for The Eagles and singled to short. She advanced on an error by the pitcher Jackson, which allowed Romero on base. Hannah De Luna then ripped a triple to left field, scoring Jex and Romero. De Luna scored on the single by Riley Payton. The Eagles scored two more runs each in the second, third and fifth innings. Allowing only one earned run in the top of the fifth on a pitching gem by Olivia Ramos the Beavers could only muster two hits during the game. The Eagles win game two 9-1.

Game Three
The Eagles faced the Celtics of Carlow University during the first game of day two. Kayla Avram stepped into the circle again for The Eagles and had another strong performance, giving up only four hits and one earned run. She was supported by Hannah De Luna who went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI's, and Mackenzie Hospodka who was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's. The Celtics scored two in the fourth but could never take the lead from The Eagles after they scored another three in the fifth. The 6-2 score was enough to give The Eagles their third win of the tourney.

Game Four
The Eagles bats came alive during the fourth game of the tournament with 12 hits and 16 runs through three innings, including a ten run third inning. Olivia Ramos led ERAU to the vicory with a one-hit shut out. The Eagles win game four 16-0.

The Eagles will play their final game of the invitational on Wednesday March 9th when they face Carlow University once more. GO EAGLES!
