Davidson is Brilliant, Critchlow Homers and Riddle Sweeps

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – A truly dominating performance by Mikaeli Davidson (FR/Tempe, Ariz.) in game one of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) softball's double-header with University of Antelope Valley was almost the only win the team earned Friday afternoon as they narrowly escaped game two with a one-run victory, 2-0 and 6-5.

Davidson was lights out in game one allowing only three hits in a complete game shutout of the Pioneers (12-15, 1-5 Cal Pac). A couple of clutch RBI hits by Danielle Jamieson (FR/Tucson, Ariz.) and Bailey Critchlow (SR/Stockton, Utah) plated the only runs that the Corona del Sol alumna and ERAU (11-15, 5-1 Cal Pac) would need.

After her dominating performance in game one, she would toe the rubber again in game two but was not as efficient, as one would expect. She would give up five runs but Critchlow and Aleena Alexander (FR/Tucson, Ariz.) were ready in game two as they both had extra base hits in the second inning to get four runs back.

After Mikendra Kramar (SO/Livermore, Calif.) plated an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, ERAU would give up two runs and brought in Carly Carlsen (JR/Littleton, Colo.) to finish the inning. The Littleton native would retire all three batters she faced and would end the game with consecutive strikeouts and the tying run on third.

Riddle will be back at it on Saturday (4/6) as they play host yet again to the Pioneers in the finale of their conference series at noon MST.
