Embry-Riddle won all four games against the University of Saint Katherine this weekend in San Marcos, Calif. as the Eagles outscored the Firebirds 39-6 in the series.  ERAU won game one today 7-1 and won the second game in 5 innings 11-2.

Game 1

USK took the lead in the first game of the day as they went up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1^st inning. 

Embry-Riddle answered in the top of the 3^rd inning as Anise Romo (Waddell, Ariz.) hit a single and stole second.  Leah Salas (Sahuarita, Ariz.) then hit a homerun to center field to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage. 

Neither team scored again until ERAU added some insurance runs in the top of the 7^th inning.  Sam Holbert (Glendale, Ariz.) led off with a single and moved to second on a sac bunt by Tatum Chestnut (Peoria, Ariz.).  When Bradee Jeffery (Manteca, Calif.) hit a single, Holbert was able to score.  Pinch hitter Lily Anderson (Flagstaff, Ariz.) then hit a single and Salas followed with her second homerun of the game to make the score 6-1. 

Vanessa Brink (Vail, Ariz.) earned the complete game win giving up just two hits and striking out five Firebirds. 

Game 2

Maddie Judge (Oro Valley, Ariz.) scored the first run of the game as she led off with a walk and advanced to second on a sac bunt by Salas.  Judge came around to score on a double by Kate Delaney (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Embry-Riddle quickly led 1-0.

USK answered in the bottom half of the first inning as they tied the score at 1-1. 

The tie didn't last long as ERAU scored six runs in the top half of the second inning.  Chestnut was walked to start the inning and then Camille Graham (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) hit a single to put runners on first and second.  A single by Romo loaded the bases for Judge.  Judge hit into a fielder's choice but brought home Chestnut for the first run of the inning.  A double by Anderson brought home Graham and moved Judge to 3^rd base.  Diana Miranda Montano (Tucson, Ariz.) then hit a single that Judge was able to score on.  With runners at 1^st and 3^rd, Delaney had her second hit of the game, this time a three run homerun and after the top of the second inning, Embry-Riddle was up 7-1. 

The Firebirds scored another run in the bottom of the 3^rd inning, but ERAU answered with four more runs in the top of the 4^th.  Miranda Montano led off with a single and then Holbert hit a homerun to left center field for two more Eagle runs.  After Chestnut and Graham each hit a single, Meredith Tutrone (Scottsdale, Ariz.) picked up an RBI with a single through the left side to score Chestnut.  With two outs, Judge hit a single to score Graham and give the Eagles the 11-2 advantage. 

Embry-Riddle held Saint Katherine's scoreless for the final two innings as ERAU earned the 11-2 five inning run rule victory. 

Claire Streeter (San Marino, Calif.) earned the win in the circle as she held USK to just two hits. 

Embry-Riddle will return to Prescott for a doubleheader with OUAZ on Wednesday evening with the first game beginning at 4pm.
