Embry-Riddle won both games of their double header in Riverside 10-0 over the Golden Eagles of La Sierra on Friday at the La Sierra Softball Field. 

Game 1

ERAU scored two runs in the top of the 1^st inning as Jaden Espinoza (Tucson, Ariz.) scored both Diana Miranda Montano (Tucson, Ariz.) who reached on a single and Kate Delaney (Fort Collins, Colo.) who hit a double.  Espinoza hit a double to right center and gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead early.

Espinoza's second double of the day in the 3^rd brought home Miranda Montano again and extended the Embry-Riddle lead to 3-0. 

The Eagles scored four more runs in the top of the 4^th inning on four hits.  Autumn Sulusi (Kaneohe, Hawaii) led off the inning with a double and then Tatum Chestnut (Peoria, Ariz.) hit a single to left field.  Meredith Tutrone (Scottsdale, Ariz.) followed with a single to right center that brought home Sulusi.  Miranda Montano's third hit of the game was a double to left center which scored both base runners and made the score 6-0.  Leah Salas (Sahuarita, Ariz.) came around to score the last run of the inning and after four innings of play ERAU led 7-0.

Embry-Riddle added three more runs in the top of the 5^th inning on six hits and the Eagles took game one in five innings 10-0.

Pitcher Vanessa Brink (Vail, Ariz.) allowed just four hits and struck out six batters in her four innings.

Game 2

Just like game one, the Eagles scored early in the second game of the double header.  Maddie Judge (Oro Valley, Ariz.) was hit by a pitch to start the game and Lily Anderson (Flagstaff, Ariz.) followed with a walk.  Sam Holbert (Gilbert, Ariz.) picked up the RBI as she knocked in Anderson on a fielder's choice.  A single by Emma Almodoba (Tucson, Ariz.) gave ERAU the early 2-0 lead. 

Embry-Riddle didn't score again until the third inning when they added four more runs.  Once again Anderson reached on a walk and Miranda Montano reached first on an error.  Delaney hit a single that brought home Anderson and made the score 3-0.  Holbert was then hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Following Holbert, Almodoba grounded out but picked up an RBI as Miranda Montano scored on the play.  A sac fly by Sulusi brought home Delaney and extended the Eagle lead to 5-0.  A single by Bradee Jeffery (Manteca, Calif.) plated Holbert and after three innings, ERAU led 6-0. 

The Eagles scored another run in the top of the 4^th inning as Anderson came around to score. 

In the top of the 5^th, Alexus Marquez (Las Vegas, Nev.) reached first with a single and then Daisy Del Rio (Gilbert, Ariz.) was walked.  Pinch hitter Natalie Gonzalez (Poway, Calif.) hit a double to right center field that scored Marquez and moved Del Rio over to third base.  Del Rio scored on a groundout by Anderson to put ERAU up 9-0.  Gonzalez scored the 10^th run of the game for Embry-Riddle on a groundout by Chestnut and the Eagle defense held up in the bottom half of the inning for the 10-0 five inning run rule. 

Claire Streeter (San Marino, Calif.) pitched the first four innings giving up just one hit and striking out four batters.  Marissa Sanchez (Denver, Colo.) pitched the last inning of both games today and allowed just one hit in her two innings of work.
